Exploring the art of living a sustainable coastal style.

Summer's on its w...Color You Beautif...

Not usually one to follow the rules... well right now I am following the rules!  These are challenging times and things will continue to be uncertain for some time to come.  Design No. Five is a home-based business but in the past week we have had a few unexpected guests!  My husband is working from home, my daughter has also joined us as BC Law School has gone to online classes and there is always the possibility that our oldest daughter will join us as her Boston condo gets smaller and smaller...

Many of our homes have home offices all set up but for those who are trying to be creative and accommodate an entire family working and studying from home here are a few ideas...

For a more economical solution check out IKEA for desks, chairs and storage.  Huffington Post has a great article which will help with numerous viable options.  (The article was written in 2019 and talks about a sale but very useful.)

Here is a great option for standing and working that won't break the bank - also from IKEA. Other working while walking concepts.

Several fantastic ideas from House Beautiful - check out what is available on Craig's List. Combining vintage, ready-made available online in conjunction with what you may already own.

All rooms in the home are up for grabs!!!  Sources for this look...

Great for kids studying at home. Chalkboard paint is magic!  Check it out...

Re-purpose those nooks and crannies - let Country Living help you get those creative juices flowing.

Plants and artwork seem to be a common addition to the work spaces we have selected. Think about what you have in the house to move to your office and study areas.  Gardens Goods Direct is a fantastic online option for house plants and Saachi Art for that special piece of art.

As we all live with this new way of living, the team at Design No. Five wishes everyone all the best and we will try to do our part by sharing information and ideas for coping. Please join us on Pinterest and share your home office ideas. Just send us an email at hello@designnofive.com and we'll give you access to our Home Office Board. We'd love to hear from you.
